FORMATION AND PROLIFERATION OF CROWN OF PLANT OF GENUS ASPARAGUS AND PROLIFERATION OF SEEDLING

PURPOSE:To proliferate seedling of a plant of genus Asparagus in high efficiency by carrying out the tissue culture of a tissue of the asparagus plant while intermittently supplying a liquid medium under aeration and growing the formed crown to a grown plant. CONSTITUTION:Tissue or callus of a plant of genus Asparagus is implanted on a supporting material and a liquid medium is intermittently supplied to and discharged from the culture system in such a manner as to intermittently immerse at least a part of the crown in the liquid medium. The culture vessel is provided with an air-inlet and an air-outlet and the tissue is cultured under aeration to form a crown. The crown is sliced, the slice is cultured to thicken the crown and the same process is repeated to effect proliferation of the tissue.
