<p>PURPOSE:To minimize the loss of a recording sheet upon the occurrence of a sheet jam by providing a bypass means at a sheet carriage route leading to a storage means for recording both sides thereof for introducing the sheet to a storage means without passage through a select means. CONSTITUTION:A recording sheet with one side thereof recorded is once stored in an intermediate storage means 69 via a carriage route 11 and a select means 76. Then, the sheet is again carried to a recording means 62 for completing a duplex copying process. In this case, if a sheet jam or the like occurs and a recording sheet is discarded, the sheet with one side recorded is stored on top of recording sheets stacked in an intermediate storage means 62. Then, lower recording sheets are taken out in sequence with a takeout means 77 for the refeed thereof. In this case, the recoded sheets are not fed, but again stacked on the intermediate storage means 69 via a bypass means 113 without a recording process. Then, the lower recording sheets are sequentially taken out with the takeout means 77 for recording both sides of the recorded sheets. According to the aforesaid construction, the loss of the recording sheets upon jamming can be minimized.</p> |
