The electric guitar or bass stringed instrument is fitted with a tremolo limiting device which consists of a tremolo bridge unit (15) which is mounted in a recess in the guitar body. The tremolo bridge unit is so mounted that it can swing about an axis perpendicular to the plane of the drawing. Its rotation in the upward direction is limited by an adjustable stop and in the downward direction by a second adjustable stop (10). Each stop is secured by a separate vertically mounted pin (2) by a set-screw (1). Each pin (2) is fixed to a common baseplate (18). The height of each stop can be adjusted by a screw (9).
