The grinding appts., such as for prepg. material for papermaking and the like, has two rotating sections (10) with a relative rotation to each other, has hard metal wear pieces (32) fixed to them. The wear parts (32) can be of a hard ceramic, and attached to the respective rotating part by hard soldering, welding or adhesive, keyed into a recess. The wearing parts can be bar shaped, and fitted into a T-shaped groove, or fitted into holes located with rotational symmetry round the rotating part, and held in place by screws (38). The first rotating part (10) has a sieve sections (12), with the wearing parts between them in zones (14,20) arranged radially to give spaced opposing radial rows, in at least two rows, with gaps in adjacent rows. The second rotating part is a rotor, with at least one blade with wearing parts facing the first rotating section, placed on the leading edge of the blade in the direction of rotation. They can also be arranged on the rotor blade in angled rows, against the blade line. The rows run generally parallel to each other, with an increased radial gap between them. ADVANTAGE - The wear on the rotating components is protected, and the wearing parts are easily exchanged without damage to the grinders.
