PURPOSE:To generate no frictional noise between an elastic body and a rotor in starting the drive of an ultrasonic motor by releasing the pressed contact state of the rotor to the elastic body once in starting the drive of the motor and by gradually increasing the pressed contact face of the rotor to the elastic body after the start of the drive. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic motor is equipped with the 1st disk member 22 and the 2nd disk member 23 fixed to a rotor 5, a ball bearing 24 rotatably connecting the disk members 22 and 23, etc. At the back of an elastic body 3 a ring-shaped piezoelectric element 30 is stuck with adhesive. A means to release the pressed contact state of the rotor 5 to the plastic body 3 in starting the drive of the ultrasonic motor and a pressed contact force regulation means gradually increasing the pressed contact force of the rotor 5 to the elastic body 3 after the pressed contact state of the rotor 5 to the elastic body 3 was released are provided. |
