PURPOSE:To eliminate inconveniences when thunderbolt falls, etc. arise in chargers for electrostatic charging, etc. by interrupting respective high voltage power sources and interrupting the execution of copying processes when the times of the abnormal outputting of the high voltage power sources exceed reference values. CONSTITUTION:When the times of any one of abnormal output among abnormal outputs of high voltage power sources 10, 15, 17 to be produced when thunderbolt falls or short circuiting arises in chargers 2, 6, 7 for electrostatic charging, transferring and destaticizing exceed the reference values set according to the degrees of influence upon copied images with respect to the power sources 10, 15, 17, the processor interrupts the outouts of the power sources 10, 15, 17, interrupts copying, or processes others. As a result, the outputs of the high voltage power sources and the execution of the copying processes are interrupted only when necessary in order to minimize the adverse influence upon copied images when the thunderbolt falls or short circuiting arises in the chargers for electrostatic charging, transferring and destaticizing. Thus the inconveniences when the thunderbolt falls, etc. arise in the chargers are eliminated. |
