The resistance comprises a layer of compn TaCx (where 0.35 x 0.80) opt. on are non-conducting/insulating support, formed by the carburisation of Ta in a hydrocarbon atmos. The resistance element has a low coeff. of ohmic variation with temp. and can be used from room temp to 2500 degrees C.
