A buffering compound such as tetrasodium pyrophosphate is incorporated into monovinylidene aromatic polymer resins which also contain an aliphatic halogen-containing ignition resistance agent and a transition metal compound. Without the buffering compound, these compositions discolor unacceptably when processed or molded at elevated temperatures. |
