An up-and-over door with a lever operating mechanism has a vertical rail (2) fixed to the door (1) to act as a support and guide for a roller (18) on the end of a long lever (12). A shorter lever (13), pivoted to the upper end of the long one, has its other end pivot moving in an elongated slot (15) in the rail. An arm (4) which operates the door is connected to the two levers' pivot point, either directly or via an intermediate lever (5). The long lever (12) has a second guide roller (19) below its centre point which interacts, as the door is opened, with a cam (20) on the rail (2). The intermediate lever (5) is set at an angle relative to the long lever, and it can be made from a number of adjustable components. The elongated slot (15) in the rail can be made with an ahgled notch at one end to lock the short lever's pivot when the door is closed. |
