PURPOSE: To balance impacts transmitted to a pile so as to enhance the effects of sound insulation by installing an acoustic shield freely slidably on the pile guide arm of a pile driver which uses the explosive force of combustion gas, the acoustic shield having an ignition device and a pile support device. CONSTITUTION: An acoustic shield 5 with a pile support device 3 having an ignition device 4 is freely slidably installed on the pile guide arm 1 of a pile driver mounted on a vehicle frame 7. A pile capped with a gas generator at its upper end is attached to the support device 3. The ignition device 4 causes ignition at the gas generator and the pile is driven by the gas pressure generated. The acoustic shield 5 falls according to the amount that the pile is driven. Thus, impacts transmitted to the pile can be balanced.
