<p>A child safety seat (1) which can be mounted on a chair (8) having a seat (5) and a backrest (7) comprises a seat portion (2) which engages the chair seat (5) and includes a child engaging seat part (2) and elongated lateral restraints (17) at the sides of the seat part (2) which extend from front to rear of the seat part. Adjustable length strap means (21) connect at respective opposite ends to the restraints (17) so that adjustment of the strap means (21) effects mutual counter rotation of the restraints (17) to vary the height of the seat part (2). The safety seat (1) can also be provided with a backrest part (3) which includes lateral restraints (25) along opposite upright sides thereof. A child safety harness (26) is attached to the safety seat (1) and straps (9, 11, 13) are provided to secure the parts of the seat (1) to the chair seat (5) and backrest (7). The safety seat (1) is of inflatable form.</p> |
