PURPOSE:To improve image quality and to miniaturize a transfer belt by using the short transfer belt which is separate from both leading and trailing edges of a transfer paper and providing a specific grounded cleaning member. CONSTITUTION:As the transfer belt 2, such a transfer belt 2 is used; it has a short circumferential length, and is separate from both the leading and the trailing edges of the transfer paper whenever the transfer paper reciprocates. The cleaning member 27 to be grounded is provided, and the cleaning member 27 is electrically floating state during the belt area which is in a trensfer paper attraction area and moves in contact state with the cleaning member 27 passes a part of the cleaning member 27 when the transfer belt 2 reciprocates as the cleaning member 27. Thus, the good image quality under which transfer nonuiformity is difficult to appear is obtained and this quality is realized when the transfer belt 2 is further miniaturized. |
