<p>PURPOSE: To attain accuracy of reading and reduction in access time by providing a current mirror connected to each of two electrically erasable P-ROM transistor blocks and thereby performing differential detection. CONSTITUTION: During a read time, a current mirror 14 tries to feed a equal current to each of electrically erasable P-ROM transistor blocks 12L, 12R. However, with the blocks 12L, 12R having a load different from each other, more current is forced to flow through one of the legs of the current mirror 14. As a result, a potential difference is generated with the leg of the current mirror crossed transversely, enabling reading by means of a voltage sensor. Thus, reading is made accurate and access time is reduced. In addition, if a bit value is latched by providing a latch 16, the current mirror has no need to be continuously ON; therefore, power consumption is reduced.</p> |
