<p>PURPOSE:To transmit the load of an arch wire to a tooth to be corrected by providing both side portions of a bracket structure with an integral shoulder portion for placing and supporting the arch wire. CONSTITUTION:A bracket structure is provided at its center with a U-shaped slot 2 for engaging an arch wire, at its upper and lower portions with a pair of wings 3, 3 for engaging ligating means, and at its both sides with a shoulder portion 4 projecting out of extending portions of the slot 2 for securely placing and supporting the ligating means. To correct the row of teeth of a patient, the enlarged bottom 1a of the bracket 1 is glued with adhesive to the tooth surface T, the arch wire 10 is engaged with the slot 2 of each bracket 1, the arch wire 10 is ligated with ligating means through the wings 3, 3, so that the load of the arch wire 10 is transmitted to the tooth T to be corrected.</p> |
