Environmentally preferred, isotropic, aqueous, liquid detergents, comprising: ( i ) at least 20 % by weight of a surfactant system, of which at least 5 % by weight of the total composition is soap; ( ii) at least 5 % by weight of propylene glycol; (iii) less than 5 mmol per litre of calcium; said composition being substantially free of a di- or tri-alkanolamine capable of forming a complex with soap. Preferably the compositions also comprise a boron compound and glycerol to provide good enzyme stability. |
