PURPOSE:To eliminate the stain of a recording sheet by a method wherein rowel spurs rotatable in a carriage travel direction are mounted on a carriage on the both sides of a recording head. CONSTITUTION:Rowel spurs 15A, 15B mounted on a carriage 7 are separated from a platen 8 because rowel spur support members 14A, 14B are pulled by rowel spur return springs 16A, 16B. When solenoids 17A, 17B are respectively turned ON on an instruction from a control member 31, the rowel spur support members 14A, 14B are pressed by arm parts 18A, 18B of the solenoids 17A, 17B and thereby the rowel spurs 15A, 15B abut on the platen 8. Then, if a recording sheet 1 remaining stopping on the platen 8 for a long time is warped and levitated, the contact of the recording sheet 1 with a recording head 6 can be prevented by a method wherein the right or left solenoid 17A or 17B is turned ON; the right or left rowel spur 15A or 15B is moved downward; and the carriage 7 is traveled. |
