<p>A programmer for an appliance having a single timing motor drive 48, 142 for a rotating cam drum 12 which actuates plural appliance program function switches 20. A first advance means 25, 26 drives the cam drum in one direction when selectively engaged with a toothed wheel 25 on the drum and drives through a first rotary frictional coupling 37. A second advance means 46, 40 drives continuously through a second rotary frictional coupling 51 and drives the cam drum in a reverse direction when the first advance means is disengaged. When the first advance means is engaged, the second rotary frictional coupling slips and is overdriven in a direction opposite its driving direction by said first frictional coupling.</p> |
