PURPOSE: To obtain a fabric conditioning composition capable of imparting perfume odor and softening effect to a fabric which is especially partially wetted by including a fabric softening agent into a perfume/cyclodextrin complex, applying the complex to a fabric and tumbling the fabric in an automatic laundry dryer under heating. CONSTITUTION: An effective amount of cationic fabric softening agent and further, a nonionic softening agent are added to a perfume/cyclodextrin complex having >=10 μm and <=250 μm particle diameter and obtained by treating, e.g. nonwoven fabric substrate sheet with a mixture of perfume with cyclodextrin to provide a solid, dryer-activated fabric conditioning composition for applying perfume odor, etc., to fabric. The fabric containing the complex is tumbled in an automatic laundry dryer under heating (e.g. at 35-15 deg.C). Thereby, perfume is released and perfume odor is applied to the fabric, especially wet fabric and further, softening effect is imparted to the fabric. Furthermore, the cyclodextrin comprises a substituted cyclodextrin containing about 6-12 glucose units or its derivative. |
