PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber product useful as asbestos substitute by a simple process without changing color of surface of product by forming woven fabric, knitted fabric or folded yarns from spun yarn prepared by blending ceramic-based fibers with water-soluble fibers and immersing the woven fabric, etc., in warm water. CONSTITUTION:(A) Ceramic-based fibers are blended with (B) 3-20wt.% water-soluble vinylon to form spun yarn. The spun yarn is processed into woven fabric, knitted fabric or folded yarns. Then the woven fabric, knitted fabric or folded yarns are immersed in warm water at 50-90 deg.C in a bath ratio of 1 woven fabric and 3 warm water for 30-60 minutes. The water-soluble vinylon in the woven fabric is dissolved, further the woven fabric is washed with new warm water to give fabric for heat-resistant protector. The fabric is used as a heat-resistant protector, fire-proof packing, tape of fire-proof coating, etc., to give the objective fiber product. |
