NEW MATERIAL:A urethane compound shown by the formula containing both a tertiary amino group and hydroxyl group. USE:Useful as an intermediate for synthetic resins, a chain extender, an intermediate for surfactant, a crosslinking agent and further an intermediate for compounds of drugs and agricultural chemicals. Having useful hydroxyl tertiary amino group, urethane bond and piperazine group, the subject substance is usable as a diverse chemical raw material in a wide use by extremely taking advantage of characteristics of above-mentioned reactive polar groups. PREPARATION:N-Aminoethylpiperazine is reacted with a cyclic alkylene carbonate in a solventless state or in a polar solvent such as water or alcohol at normal temperature-200 deg.C to give a urethane compound group. The compound shown by formula I is obtained by reacting 1mol of the piperazine with 2.0-2.2mols of the latter compound and degassing at 125-152 deg.C under 30mmHg. |
