PURPOSE:To raise reliability by removing defects such as deviation of a printing position and wrinkles of paper by a method wherein a function wherein homing operation is allowed not to be performed in the case where a next printing position exists within an area (area A) preliminarily installed on an upper end of the paper, is established. CONSTITUTION:When RE (a ribbon end) is detected, printing operation is stopped temporarily, and a carrier is moved to a center of a platen. The purpose of this operation is to make an ink ribbon cartridge be easily exchanged. In the case where the exchange of the ink ribbon is ended, whether a position to be printed next is within an area A or not is compared. It is required therefor to store a position (a line) which is being printed presently. When it is not in the area A, homing operation follows. When in the area A, next printing operation follows without homing. |
