PICTURE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD

PURPOSE: To enable a hearer to catch motion such as the movement of speaker's mouth by increasing a transfer rate for a prescribed area of an image. CONSTITUTION: The image of a prescribed region in an image to be a main concerned object is received by a video camera 12 and digitized by an image processor 18. Image data are read, collected and received by a receiving station through a token ring adaptor 20 and a token ring 22. The data are stored in a memory of a computer 16, read out and stored in a video memory of an image processor 18 and displayed on a monitor 14. Video data are fetched by automatic increment and inputted to the video memory at a high speed.
