PURPOSE:To impart wrinkle, shrink resistance, etc., without impairing advantages essential to silk by applying a treating bath containing hydroxymethyl(meth)acrylamide as a principal agent and an alkanesulfonic acid as a condensing reaction catalyst to a silk knitted or woven fabric and heat-treating the resultant fabric. CONSTITUTION:A silk knitted or woven fabric is subjected to processing treatment with a treating bath containing hydroxymethylacrylamide or hydroxymethylmethacrylamide as a principal agent and an alkanesulfonic acid expressed by the formula (R is CH3, C2H5, CH2SO3H, C6H5 or C6F4CH3) as a condensing reaction catalyst by a pad/dry/cure method to impart wrinkle, shrink resistance, bulkiness, etc., to the aforementioned fabric without impairing advantages of hand, gloss, hydrophilicity, etc., essential to the silk. |
