PURPOSE:To polish and sweep the center part of a roll prior to any other in a surface polishing and sweeping device for table rollers and the like of a hot rolling mill by dividing a polishing and sweeping block into a plurality of pieces at right angles to the conveying direction, making respective divided bodies into comb-shape, connecting them relatively movable in the vertical direction, and suspendingly receiving them in a housing part above the roll. CONSTITUTION:A polishing and sweeping block is divided into two pieces at right angles to the conveying direction, and further respective divided blocks are finely divided at right angles to the conveying direction to be formed into comb-shaped block divided bodies 10, and they are loosely connected relatively movable in the vertical direction. This polishing and sweeping block 7 is wound up and received in a gate type container 9 for the polishing block with a traction means 8 and wire. At polishing and sweeping of table rollers 4, the block 7 is brought down and placed on the rollers 4 by the traction means 8. Hereby, respective divided bodies 10 are freely moved up and down along the inclination of the rollers 4 so as to contact with the surface of the rollers 4 and polish and sweep them. |
