The invention relates to a device for determining the length of screw to be used in an assembly of parts, provided with an emerging hole terminated, on one of the said parts, by a recess receiving the screw head to be used. It comprises: - a first element 2 determining a reference face 5 arranged perpendicularly to the hole 24; - a second element 4 associated, movably, with the said first element and terminated by a rod 6, emerging from the reference face 5 and capable of being introduced into the said hole to be applied against the other part 23; - a template 10 mounted around the said rod 6 and comprising a portion 14 of length l, capable of coming into contact with the reference face 5 of the first element, and a head 12 extending the portion 14 and corresponding to the screw head to be used, the said head 12 being received in the recess of the said hole 24 so as to allow, by reading means, measurement of the length L contained between the reference face 5 and the external face 23A of the said other part, and, by subtracting the length l from the length L, the screw length Y to be used for assembling the parts. <IMAGE>
