The ultrasound transducer includes an acoustic focusing lens 22 and a plane piezoelectric wafer 21, the lens 22 being plano-concave and attached via its plane surface 24 to the wafer, its exit surface 26 being such that the incident ultrasound beam PF leaving the wafer is perpendicular to the plane of the latter and is refracted on the said exit surface 26 so that the refracted beam generated in the coupling medium, which in turn is refracted on the surface O, x, y of the part, converges exactly to the point of inspection F of the latter. <IMAGE>
