The invention relates to a removable blocking device, arranged to close off a conduit in a leaktight way and, if necessary, to block cables or hoses passing through this conduit. The device 20 includes an elastomeric block 21 having a transverse profile which corresponds to that of the conduit 2, and clamping means for longitudinally compressing this block so as to produce its transverse expansion. Thus, blocking and sealing are produced by transverse clamping between the walls of the conduit. The block 21 may include longitudinal passages for cables or conduits 27 to 29, which are thus blocked in leaktight manner by the transverse expansion of the elastomer. The clamping means may include one or more pairs of transverse plates 26, 27 connected by a screw-type clamping member 12 to 14. Application to tubular conduits for the passage of cables or pipes, particularly in telecommunication networks with electrical cables or optical cables, networks for distributing energy or fluids. <IMAGE>
