The filter 10 is intented to be positioned in the blood circulation system of a human being or of an animal, in particular in the vena cava 20, and is of the type comprising a number of elastic branches 3, 4, 5 which are arranged uniformly about the central axis 2 of a central core 1 for connecting these branches, and on each side of this core 1, some of the said branches comprising, at their end opposite the core 1, a hook 3a directed outwards for anchoring in the wall 20a of the vein 20.
