The invention relates to a connector for joining cylindrical components such as tool handle extensions for example, characterised in that it includes two male connectors with threaded connection surfaces, held head to tail by a removable female tapped sleeve tube, the threaded connection surface of the first connector having, at its end, at least one projecting part coming into abutment on at least one cut, or in at least one recess (housing) on the end of the threaded connection surface of the second connector when the two connectors are joined top to toe, which consists, in the first instance, in screwing the female tapped sleeve tube onto the threaded connection surface of the first connector, in a second instance, in joining the two threaded surfaces top to toe and, in the third instance, in unscrewing the said sleeve tube on the two surfaces which are rotationally immobilized with respect to one another, until this sleeve tube becomes immobilized against a collar provided for that purpose around the second connector. The invention is particularly intended for producing tool handle extensions, or for fastening such a tool to its handle, particularly in the chimney sweeping field. <IMAGE>
