PURPOSE:To obtain a nonaqueous electrolyte battery of excellence in discharge property by providing a specific negative electrode, nonaqueous electrolyte and a specific positive electrode to restrain the falling of battery voltage in the beginning of discharge. CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode of lithium or lithium alloy, nonaqueous electrolyte and a positive electrode of lower-crystallinity cupric oxide as active positive-electrode material are employed. This case, when the cupric oxide is immersed into solution of alkaline metal salt or alkaline earth metal salt, few copper is solved out. The alkaline metal or the alkaline earth metal, replaced for the solved copper, are entered into the cupric oxide and given dry treatment so that lower-crystallinity cupric oxide revised is composed to promote the diffusion of lithium ions (Li<+>) during the discharge of a battery. It is thus possible to improve the falling of battery voltage in the beginning of discharge and enhance high-efficiency discharge property. |
