PURPOSE:To improve the program production/editing efficiency by displaying the related library functions on a display screen and putting the library function selected by a user into a designated position. CONSTITUTION:An instruction mark 21 is displayed by an inserting position display means 11, and a library function is put into the position of the mark 21. When an instruction is received from a user for display of the mark 21, the means 11 displays the mark 21 at a designated position. When an instruction is received for display of a category window 22, a category display means 12 displays the window 22 where the category names are displayed in a list. The window 22 is displayed when a command is inputted via a keyboard 3 of the item of the category window is selected out of a menu which is not shown in the diagram by using a mouse. Thus the window 22 is displayed at a position beside the mark 21.
