PURPOSE: To obtain the subject shaped article, comprising a sufficiently compacted formulation so as to provide a firm cake of a liquefiable cellulosic powder containing a personal care agent of a high concentration without causing disadvantages to a liquid delivery vehicle. CONSTITUTION: This shaped article comprises a compacted formulation to a density sufficient to provide a firm cake of a polymer powder selected from a liquefiable cellulosic powder containing a personal care agent such as a cosmetic, preferably cellulose acetate, cellulose butyrate, cellulose nitrate, cellulose propionate, ethyl cellulose or a separated mixture or a molecular mixture thereof having preferably 1-500μm, especially 5-100μm average particle diameter, especially a cellulose triacetate polymer powder. The shaped article is neither oily nor gritty and permits the application of the cosmetic or personal care agent simply by rubbing or brushing the formulation onto the skin so that the powder liquefies and disappears to vanish.
