It comprises a barrel (hollow shaft) 1, a front end 2, a rear end 3 and a rod 4 provided with a piston 34 which can be secured to the thrust of an actuator and which is intended to slide in the barrel 1. It consists of three units: a damper unit serving to damp out the movement of the rod 4 at the end of travel, a braking unit serving to make the speed of the rod 4 substantially constant when it is subjected to the thrust of the actuator during its main stroke, and a unit which forms, together with the volume of oil displaced during the displacement of the rod 4, a capacity the volume of which is constant regardless of the position of the rod 4, these three units being mounted in series. <IMAGE>
