<p>PURPOSE: To provide a connector which can be applied to a high-density flat cable, and which is superior in the assembling and reliability, by providing each contact with an engaging part, an intermediate part and a pressure welding connection part, and using two kinds of insertion shoulders of different positions in the intermediate part. CONSTITUTION: A connector comprises an insulating housing 22, and plural pressure welding-type contacts 32 inserted and held in plural contact receiving passages 30 extending between an engagement face 26 a conductor connecting face 28 of the insulating housing. The pressure welding-type contact 32 comprises an engaging part 36 to be kept into contact with a counter-contact on one end side, and an intermediate part 40 comprising a pressure welding connection part 38 and an insertion shoulder for pressure welding-type contact 108, on the other end side. And the insertion shoulders 108, 116 of the intermediate part 40 are formed by two kinds of contacts 32a, 32b of the different positions. Thereby the connector effectively used for a flat cable of high density, and superior in the assembling and reliability, can be obtained.</p> |
