<p>PURPOSE:To drastically reduce the running cost of the device by generating a strong pulse-induced streamer corona discharge from a corona discharge electrode to a non-corona counter electrode and electrochemically treating the components contained in the gas. CONSTITUTION:A gas to be treated from a duct 57 is introduced into a discharge treating part 59. A strong streamer corona discharge is generated in the part 59 by the extremely-short-pulse high voltage from an extremely-short- pulse high voltage power source 60 through a high-voltage lead wire 61 and a grounding lead wire 62 toward a linear corona discharge electrode group 63 and a grounded plate-shaped counter electrode group 64. When the gas passes through the discharge, the harmful gas components and malodorous components are subjected to a strong PPCP action and decomposed. When the gas then passes through a catalyst part 65, the discharge product is adsorbed on the surface of a catalyst bed 60 and mostly decomposed and removed. The treated gas is introduced into a stack 69 via a duct 68 and discharged to the outside.</p> |
