PURPOSE:To allow the presence of an additional unit to be checked easily by prining the presence of the additional unit with an expansion of a test printing function. CONSTITUTION:A printer device is often used by a large number of unspecified persons, so that the presence of an additional unit needs to be checked. To meet this requirement, the presence of a connected additional unit is determined by printing it in the test printing section of a printer. If test printing is performed by setting FORM LENGTH, that is, a form length switch to 00 line on a control panel, a connected additional unit is indicated in the latter half of test printing process. If FORM LENGTH is set to any other line than 00, a routine test printing is performed. Consequently, if the presence of an additional unit need not be determined, it can be confirmed by manipulation of an operator. |
