There are provided novel pharmaceutical compositions for the topical transdermal application of corticosteroids of the estradiol type, such as 17-beta estradiol and compounds having a similar physiological activity. The novel compositions result in a gradual and prolonged migration of the active ingredient through the skin, resulting in a prolonged drug concentration in the plasma, which can be maintained within a predetermined concentration range. |
