The jig secures one or more reinforcing bars in position inside shuttering, and comprises one or more sheet-metal fixing brackets. Each of these has a base flange secured to the shuttering and from which a supporting one extends at right angles, containing a cutaway portion in which the bar is accommodated. The cutaway portion (16) runs along a first line (17) downwards from the top edge (15) of the supporting flange (14), and then along a second one (20) parallel to the top edge, against which the bar (4,5) rests. A lug (21) bent out from the supporting flange is pressed against the bar, its bend line joining onto the cut line. ADVANTAGE - A simple method of securing bars at set distance from shuttering.
