Casting concrete pipes by vibration process - uses cylindrical mould with vibrators mounted inside mould core

Concrete pipes, or the linings of manholes, are cast by the vibration process in a mould (13) consisting of a cylindrical outer wall (11) and a cylindrical core. The mould (13) is filled with concrete from above and is vibrated by vibrators (25,26,27) which are installed inside a central tubular housing. The vibrators (25,26,27) are mounted on a common vertical shaft which is driven by a belt (34) and pulley (33). Each vibrator consists of a fixed weight (38) and a weight (36) which can be adjusted for angular position with respect to the fixed weight (38). This feature enables the resultant out-of-balance force of each vibrator to be independently adjusted. USE - Mfr. of concrete pipes.
