The boat used for sport has a deck (12) with an opening (16) which can be closed by means of a hatch (14). The hatch (14) has a flange (30,32) which extends around its perimeter to form a U-section groove. This groove receives an inflatable sealing ring (18) which, when inflated, expands into a similar groove formed around the perimeter of the hatch (14). The sealing ring (18) is inflated through a valve (20) which is mounted on the outside surface of the hatch and so is accessible when the hatch is in place. USE - Hatch for boats.
