<p>PURPOSE:To reduce emission of exhaust particulate with preventing blinding by arranging a sealed trap with catalyst and a non-sealed catalytic device in parallel in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine and by having exhaust selectively flown through these catalytic parts. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust passage 12 of a diesel engine branches into two parts, and a trap with catalyst 15 is provided in a first exhaust passage 13 and a honeycomb catalyst converter 16 in a second exhaust passage 14. Also, a first switch valve 17 is provided in the first exhaust passage 13 at the downstream of the trap 15 and a second switch valve 18 in the second exhaust passage 14 at the downstream of the converter 16. Moreover, each of the exhaust passages 13 and 14 are combined with each other at the downstream of each of the switch valves 17 and 18. And each of the switch valves 17 and 18 selectively opens each of the exhaust passages 13 and 14 according to exhaust gas temperature or engine driving state relating to this and opening/closing controls each of them by a controller, not shown, as a driving means.</p> |
