The platform elevator attachment consists of a set of telescopic rails and an elevating platform (7) which for transformation can be collapsed and swing round to lie vertically against the rear of the van. In the working position a telescopic strut (21) supports the rail at approximately the midpoint. At the bottom end are adjustable screw jacks (16) to allow for uneven surfaces. The platform (7) is electrically driven on the rails to move the package (28), which may be furniture, between the floor of the van and the house window. The elevator can be detached from the vehicle chassis and easily manhandled on the removable castors (24). USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple, low-cost design. Avoids vehicle length restrictions.
