The cover face consists of a good normal conductor, and the two planar end faces are of a material with a smaller surface resistance compared to the cover face, pref. a superconductor with high transition temperative. The half end-face diameter is equal to or larges than the material )wavelength or the resonator filling, pref around 1.2 times. USE/ADVANTAGE - Microwave filters or measuring devices. Gives high measurement resolution with use of high transition temp superconductor, eliminating influence of normal conductor and approximating to ideal fully superconducting resonator.
