<p>A decoder circuit for detecting and correcting a single error comprises a syndrome operation section (I) for operating three syndromes (S0,S1,S2) during 14 clocks from a receiving cordword (r), a buffer (III) for storing the receiving cordword, and an error detecting/operating section (II). The syndrome operation section includes a number of shift registers (10-12,30-32) and three multiplexers (20,21, 22). When said three syndromes are satisfying the conditional statement, the error detecting/operating section corrects a single error of the cordword stored in the buffer. When said three syndromes is not satisfying the conditional statement, the error detecting/operating section outputs the cordword stored in the buffer.</p> |
