PURPOSE: To independently set the value of the jump of each booster at low cost by measuring the distance between an annular front face of a piston and a front face of a plunger when a boosting means is in a balanced position, and setting the distance to be equal to the displacement of a reaction disk at a center part of a rear face. CONSTITUTION: A booster to drive a master cylinder determines the force FSB to be applied to a push rod 46, the force FSB is applied to the push rod 46 provided with a reaction disk 48, and the displacement D of the reaction disk 48 at a center part of a rear face is measured. The, the distance P between an annular front face of a piston 20 and a front face of a plunger 28 when boosting means 34, 20a, 28a are in a balanced position is measured. The value of the jump of a brake booster is adjusted by setting the measured distance P to be equal to the displacement D of the reaction disk 48 at the center part of the rear face. |
