Flexible rock anchors for cramped conditions in a mine - consists of cone shaped links on cable core

The method is for fixing flexible rock anchors under cramped conditions in previously drilled boreholes, esp. for securing the roof and coal face in a mine. The anchor consists of interlinked, partially telescopic segments (3,15,16) on a cable core (12). The play between the segments allows the cable to be bent, and at the leading end of the cable is a stop (19), and at the trailing end is a sliding ring which can be forced along the cable (12) pushing the segments into each other to form a rigid anchor. USE/ADVANTAGE - Practically any length of anchor can be used in this way.
