Gate for automatic gearbox - has second economy drive position in parallel gate section, with gear selection unaffected by changing between two economy drives

The gate (6) for the gear lever of an automatic gearbox has a programme switch (10) actuated on changing between economy drive (DE) and standard drive (DS) positions, these positions being located in a striaght gate section (14). Parallel to this is another straight gate section (13) having reverse (R), neutral (N) and a further economy drive position (DEo). When changing between the two economy drive positions, the programme switch and gear selection mechanism remain unaffected. USE/ADVANTAGE - Forward to reverse and economy to standard gearchanges possible without looking at the gear lever.
