Nitrohumic acids (or their Na, K or NH4 salts) readily oxidise H2S in gases and liquids, and the sulphur formed can be easily removed. They can be fully regenerated by oxidation with e.g. air or oxygen. They are produced by treating lignite and/or brown coal dust with fuming HNO3 or its mixtures with other acids, N2O5 or NO2.
|
