PURPOSE:To produce the fibers which are useful in the clothing and industrial fields, because of their high strength, high elasticity, high orientation and low shrinkage by constituting most of recurring units of the polyamide with caproamide units and allowing the fibers to meet specific physical properties. CONSTITUTION:The subject fibers are composed of at least 75% or higher of caproamide in the recurring units, have less than 3.0 relative viscosity, more than 6g/d tensile strength, more than 35g/d initial modulus, less than 16% of tensile elongation, more than 55X10<-3> optical birefringence, more than 1.140 density, less than 8% boiling water shrinkage. These fibers are obtained by drawing filaments in a pressure-reduced vessel filled with Ar, He, N2, air, CO, H2O or the like in a high voltage-applied low-temperature plasma atmosphere. |
