TREATMNT OF CLOTH WITH PERFUME/ CYCLODEXTRIN COMPLEX

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject complex comprising a fabric softener, a perfume/ cyclodextrin complex and a clay viscosity controlling agent and capable of releasing the effective amount of the complex into a fabric by mixing and agitating the complex with the wet fabric, etc., in an automatic laundry dryer. CONSTITUTION: A composition containing a perfume/cyclodextrin complex is obtained by homogeneously melting and mixing approximately 30-99 wt.% of a fabric softener selected from a group comprising cationic and/or nonionic ones and mixtures thereof and approximately 0.5-15 wt.% of a perfume/ cyclodextrin complex and a clay viscosity controller (e.g. calcium bentonite clay). A conditioning sheet is obtained by melting the composition and bringing it to be absorbed to a nonwoven base sheet. The sheet is mixed with fabric pieces and agitated in a dryer to impart released perfume to the fabric. The treated fabric has a faint smell in a dry state, but it releases perfume when water is added to it.
